As is true of many musicians in our social media age, TikTok was the springboard for Britain’s No Guidnce to gain a large following. While already working on their own material, the vocal harmony foursome from London uploaded covers of songs by childhood heroes like Miguel and Boyz II Men, which then went massively viral. Their original compositions saw the light of day in 2023 and the single Is It A Crime?, which has been streamed nearly 14 million times to date, provided the R&B formation of Ebubé, Zeekay, Kaci and Josh with their definitive breakthrough. Meanwhile, the quartet has long since transcended the status of internet phenomenon. For example, they have toured with superstar Mahalia and given completely sold-out headline shows in their home country and the United States. No Guidnce’s success is proof that R&B is more popular than ever and deserving of a prominent place on the festival’s program.
