French group
Electro Deluxe are wolves in sheep’s clothing. Just at the moment you think you see through the band, the seven members go off in a completely new direction. Because, whereas in their early years they were experimenting with electronic jazz, the group’s repertoire has evolved, after some organic musical mutations, into a mix of swampy funk and dirty soul. Electro Deluxe, that has recorded in the past with Ben l’Oncle Soul and C2C, among others, are a true groove band that continuously flirt with other musical genres like hip hop and rock. They embark on creative adventures, inspired by legends like Herbie Hancock and Buckshot LeFonque. In doing so, the electronic element is not carried out by machines and soloists, but all tracks, mostly decorated usually with loops and samples, remain the work of the entire band.
