The band Las Hienas consists of eight women from five different countries. Based in Rotterdam, they started the project in January 2023 to represent music written by women and face discrimination against women and LGBTQIA+ people. Their repertoire covers a wide spectrum; from Afro-Cuban music, modern salsa and music from the Andes to traditional rhythms from the Caribbean and influences from jazz and flamenco, which makes for an energetic show.
