Amsterdam-based drummer and composer Yoràn Vroom is one of the most talented drummers of his generation, which is why the American singer-songwriter and keyboardist Frank McComb always uses his services whenever he tours Europe. In addition, Vroom has worked with Cory Henry and Ed Motta, among others, but he also holds his own in a solo setting. During his musical upbringing, Vroom developed a keen interest in West African and Afro-Caribbean culture. His convincing debut Across A Spectrum from 2021 is a reflection of this, and is mainly dedicated to the richness of Caribbean culture, and showcases some blistering drum and percussion work. Together with Yoràn Vroom's Group Of Friends, the percussionist will play music from his latest release A Forgotten Story, in addition to work from his debut. The musicians will render their own interesting take on Vroom's compositions, with collective improvisation as the common denominator.
