Rotterdam-based producer Glimlip is a master at creating compelling beats and intoxicating melodies, while Amsterdam-based guitarist Yasper is praised for his atmospheric soundscapes. Through the acclaimed Undertones album (2021), they showed their warm love for lo-fi music with a deep soul and essence, with the duo incorporating elements from jazz, soul, funk and instrumental hip-hop. By involving skilled, experienced jazz musicians in their project, this album delivers the feeling of the instant creativity of a live recording, resulting in an immensely rich and refined sound. In a live setting, Glimlip x Yasper takes to the stage as a seven-piece that shifts the experience of the album to another dimension – reminiscent of a performance in the spirit of their main role models Flying Lotus, Jordan Rakei and Robert Glasper, which will appeal to both traditional jazz lovers and fans of modern electronic music.
