London-based rapper, singer-songwriter and producer Sampha is currently taking the world by storm, standing out from the rest with his warm sound and painfully honest lyrics about his father's harsh life lessons, and his struggle with embarking on loving relationships. In 2017, Sampha won a Mercury Music Award with his debut album Process. He has worked with major artists such as Kendrick Lamarr, Stormzy, Solange and Alicia Keys. Last year, he released the record LAHAI , which was accompanied by the short film LAHAI: Time Travels Memories With Caleb Femi, which he co-directed and wrote with Caleb Femi. In Canada and the US, Sampha has already played to sold-out venues, but this will be his first appearance at the festival. The musicians accompanying him are Elsa Hackett (keyboards, percussion), Rosetta Carr (bass, synthesizer, keyboards), Blake Cascoe (drums) and Sean Nelson (percussion, keyboards).
