London-based singer-songwriter Jessie Ware has a crystal-clear voice and sings catchy, super danceable songs. She co-wrote Ed Sheeran’s hit New Man and has sung with SBTRKT and Sampha. In 2012, she debuted as a solo artist with the album Devotion. Her 2020 release What's Your Pleasure reached No. 3 on the Official UK Albums Chart. Last year she released her fifth album, That!Feels Good. In the meantime, Ware got married and became a mother. Whether it has anything to do with that is hard to say, but as an artist she seems to be going through a reverse development. Instead of being calmer, her music seems only to be getting wilder – and happier. Subdued songs have given way to sumptuous funk. And where she used to sing mostly about love, her latest album is about only one thing – just listen to songs like That! Feels Good, Freak Me Now and Shake The Bottle.
