Enchanting, entrancing, extraordinary: Laura Misch creates not only her own sound, but more than that, a unique universe of her own. The British singer and multi-instrumentalist is no stranger to this; ten years ago, Misch already played on her brother Tom’s hit Follow, a recording that established his own reputation as a producer and singer-songwriter. Laura and Tom were encouraged by their artistic parents to follow their creative paths above all else. Both siblings flourished on South London’s artistic scene. After two “living room cassettes,” Laura released her debut album Sample The Sky last year. The warm production takes her vision a step further than those earlier low-budget releases. Minimalist electronics, beats and subtle harp playing provide the perfect accompaniment to Misch’s wistful vocals and saxophone. Her compositions have been described as kaleidoscopic dreamscapes. They are an ode to nature and a manifesto against its destruction.
