Jungle By Night was founded in 2009 in Amsterdam by a group of friends and family members. Two years later, they released their self-titled debut EP and received their first booking at North Sea Jazz, where the at that time nine-piece young collective mesmerised the Mississippi with their infectious mix of horns and percussion. The band came together out of a shared love of Afrobeat. In 2021, their sixth and latest album Algorhythm was released. In recent years, the band has undergone a transformation: at the end of 2022, they decided to continue as a seven-piece, while also having an increased focus towards a more electronic sound, and now switch around 'dance music, funk, Krautrock, 70s funk and 80s electro'. This marked the starting point for a number of stunning releases, where the band displays a distinctly different musical aspect of their creative abilities. Their most recent EP Tone Melissa is full of laidback listening gems. You’ll certainly be able hear the band's phenomenal versatility during their set at the festival.
