Masego has quite a few skills on his résumé: vocals, rap, saxophone, drums, keyboards and production. No less impressive are the styles he masters. Drawing on his Jamaican and African-American background, he effortlessly builds bridges to jazz, R&B, hip-hop and more. Masego was born Micah Davis in Jamaica, but grew up in the US. With both his parents being pastors, church was a place for him to learn from talented musicians. His performances also have something of a church service feel, but a very exuberant one; hands are regularly raised and singing along is mandatory. On stage, he alternates smooth sax solos with rhythmic raps and velvety vocals. Now in his thirties, Masego can already call himself quite an established name. His album Studying Abroad: Extended Stay was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Progressive R&B Album category in 2022.
