Singer Olivia Dean has been an artist to watch for the last few years, with her “devastating heartbreak ballads and sing-along self-love anthems”, as her music has been described. The daughter of a Jamaican-Guyanese mother and an English father, Dean grew up in a London suburb, where she developed a love of singing as a member of the church choir. Her biggest influence was Amy Winehouse, which led to her enrolment at the famous BRIT School, where her heroine and other renowned names (Adele, FKA Twigs, Jessie J) were musically trained and formed. Soon after her graduation, she set out to tour with Rudimental and since then, the British singer's star has continued to ascend with her infectious blend of soul, pop, jazz and R&B. Last year saw the release of her debut album, Messy, as well as her selection as BBC Music Introducing Artist of the Year.
