Although his debut album Tussen Licht En Lucht (‘In Between Light and Air’, 2007) had already captured the hearts of hip-hop fans, Typhoon (Glenn de Randamie) had to wait seven years for a genuine breakthrough, which came with his follow-up album Lobi Da Basi (‘Love is boss’). He killed it at all the summer festivals, and virtually any and every music-lover in the nation was captivated by the born storyteller who raps, speaks and sings in a brutally honest and vulnerable way. For the now 38-year-old MC, major success came at a price, because he ended up suffering a burnout, which took him a year to recover from. With renewed zest, he then threw himself back into his main passion, which resulted in his third album and amazing 2020 comeback effort entitled Lichthuis (‘House of Light’). Anyone who has seen this guy from Zwolle perform live is more than aware that a Typhoon show is one full-on non-stop party, in which lobi is central. So, this 5th festival appearance from this live phenomenon will surely not be any different.
