When The New York Times declares you “the most influential jazz pianist of the past twenty years,” you’re not only a great artist, but also an inspiration and innovator on a global level. Virtuoso Brad Mehldau is certainly deserving of this high praise. On stage, the 52-year-old pianist, composer and arranger doesn't let anything hold him back. He plays from the heart, using the musical journey he has made over the decades as a creative guide for his incomparable improvisations. Mehldau blurs the lines between genres when he fuses jazz and pop into one – or, on the contrary, gives both genres a completely different form. The American received his first Grammy three years ago for his album Finding Gabriel and this spring released the live solo album Your Mother Should Know: Brad Mehldau Plays The Beatles, on which he expresses his love for the Fab Four in his own musical way.
