Even before British soul singer and songwriter Jacob Banks released his critically acclaimed debut album Village in 2018, he already had three EPs to his name. The track Unknown (To You) from the EP The Paradox was streamed over 45 million times on Spotify alone. With the song Chainsmoking, Banks stormed into the charts with his piercing voice and broke through to a wider audience. Major media outlets like Billboard, Vibe and The FADER were brimming with superlatives. His sophisticated blend of soul, R&B and alternative has already brought Banks to major stages at festivals such as Coachella, SXSW and Lollapalooza. He has also performed as a support act for Alicia Keys and Sam Smith. In the summer of 2022, Banks released his second album on his own label Nobody Records: Lies About The War featuring the powerful single Just When I Thought.
