Olivia Dean is the daughter of a Jamaican-Guyanese mother and an English father, and grew up in a London suburb, where she developed a love of singing as a member of the church choir, and through the work of Lauryn Hill, Steely Dan and Carole King. However, the artist who changed everything for the now 24-year-old vocalist was Amy Winehouse. Dean became fascinated by her storytelling and all-or-nothing view of love, which led to her enrolment at the famous BRIT School, where, in addition to her heroine, renowned names such as Adele, FKA Twigs and Jessie J were musically trained and formed. Around the time of her graduation, Dean met her current manager, who put her in touch with drum and bass act Rudimental, with whom she immediately set out on the road. Since then, the British singer's star has continued to ascend, and, with her infectious blend of soul, pop, jazz and R&B, she is now successfully touring across Europe of her own accord.
