Laura Jurd is all about versatility. The British trumpeter from Hampshire made her debut at the age of 22 with the album Landing Ground. In 2016, she joined the jazz formation Dinosaur, which then released the acclaimed album Together, As One. Jurd grew up surrounded by classical music and pop, as well as jazz, which are all discernible throughout her unique material. She was rewarded in 2015 by being named BBC New Generation Artist, which lent her the opportunity to write a piece of music, which was then performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra. Jurd integrates funk and folk into her work, and her basic principle is to continue to reinvent herself. Last year, her latest recording The Big Friendly Album was released, which received nothing but praise the world over.
