Van Morrison is viewed as one of the greatest composers of his generation. The Northern Irish-born singer, composer and saxophonist has an impressive record at the North Sea Jazz Festival, where he’s performed no less than eleven times in the past. Morrison has won multiple Grammy Awards, and is known for his indefatigable work rate. As a teenager, he found early fame with the group Them, before continuing as a solo artist, and creating the legendary Astral Weeks album. During his lengthy career, he has scored hits with songs such as Gloria (with Them), Have I Told You Lately, Brown-Eyed Girl, Moondance, and Bright Side Of The Road. Morrison recently released his new album Moving On Skiffle, which sees him make a return to his musical roots. The Irishman's performances are often noteworthy, as he’s known to issue last-minute instructions to his bandmates whilst on stage. It’s precisely that improvisational nature that prompts people to try to attend all of his performances.
