Linda May Han Oh is a bassist and composer with a huge reputation. She has worked with Joe Lovano, Terri Lyne Carrington, Pat Metheny and Kenny Barron, among others. The Malaysian-born musician grew up in Perth, Australia, and won several prestigious awards at a young age. Although she draws great inspiration from the playing of bassist Dave Holland, Oh has developed a singular style that is all her own. Her career took off at lightning speed after she moved to New York in 2008. In that year she also released her first solo album, Entry. More albums followed in quick succession; her most recent album, Aventurine (2019), will this year be succeeded by The Glass Hours. Oh is also a respected teacher at both The New School in New York and Berklee College of Music. Her style is fluid and adventurous. In addition, she is currently one of the jazz world’s most innovative composers.
