Since September 2019, the prize-winning
Jazz Focus Big Band has been conducted by Lorenzo Mignacca, who is continuing the mission of the late Peter Guidi. The 18-member big band is filled to the brim with musical talent and performs truly animated jazz. When still led by Peter Guidi, Jazz Focus Big Band already performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival, Amsterdam Uitmarkt, the Concertgebouw and at festivals in San Sebastian and Budapest. Three months after Lorenzo Mignacca took the reins, the band performed at the Prinses Christina Concours and won first prize. Their repertoire ranges from Thad Jones, Cole Porter, Buddy Rich, Mancini and Sammy Nestico to more contemporary music by Gordon Goodwin and Michael Bublé.
