Ever since his childhood, Petter Eldh has been joyously wandering through a forest of musical styles. Whether it’s jazz, classical, soul, reggae, folk, or hip hop music, the Swedish double bass player is inspired by all genres. During the festival, Eldh will be accompanied on stage by his five-piece band Koma Saxo, consisting of musicians from his home country as well as his current hometown Berlin. The group - with three saxophone players as their engine and the special vocals of Sofia Jernberg as a beacon - sound refreshingly contemporary, but also exciting and progressive. The Scandinavian-German quintet dare to push the boundaries of the jazz genre, as can be heard on their latest album Koma West, that was released recently. At times their music sounds intimate, at other times very groovy, but it is always unorthodox and filled with adventure.
