Guitarist, composer, and producer Nile Rodgers occupies a special place among contemporary music legends thanks to his enormous versatility. His name is forever connected with the worldwide disco hit Le Freak with his band CHIC (Atlantic Records’ best-selling single of all time), but he also wrote We Are Family for Sister Sledge. And with the song Good Times from 1979 he gave hip hop a push forward when the Sugar Hill Gang sampled the song a year later for their hit Rapper’s Delight. In the eighties, Rodgers became a sought-after producer. He worked with, among others, Diana Ross, David Bowie, Debbie Harry and, recently, Daft Punk. And after all this time there is a new CHIC record, It’s About Time, and Rodgers is travelling the globe, raising the roof at every festival he attends; from Coachella to Glastonbury and NN North Sea Jazz.
