Singer Fay Claassen (1969) recently released a spectacular project: Fay Live, a prestigious box set with eight CDs, two vinyl records and many photos. The singer is celebrating 25 years in the business with music recorded at all kinds of live concerts. At NN North Sea Jazz, Claassen is performing with pianist Peter Beets and his New Jazz Orchestra. During the concert - just like on Fay Live - they will play numbers that represent a cross section of her career, but now arranged for a big band. Beets (1971) has been at the top as a pianist, accompanist and soloist for years. He has shared the stage with jazz greats such as Chick Corea, Wynton Marsalis, "Toots" Thielemans, Elvin Jones, and Kurt Rosenwinkel. In the past years, Peter Beets has been more and more involved with the development of the new generation of jazz musicians by starting, together with Henk Meutgeert, the New Jazz Orchestra, an 18-piece band formed by the exceptional talents of young jazz musicians in The Netherlands.
