Lucia Cadotsch studied jazz vocals at the Berlin Universität der Künste and the Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium in Copenhagen. The Swiss singer uses her voice as a versatile instrument to create a unique and instantly recognizable sound. She recorded three albums with Schneeweiss & Rosenrot and has performed in various countries. Together with Swedish top musicians Otis Sandsjö (tenor sax) and Petter Eldh (double bass) she founded the genre-defying and vanguard trio Speak Low, whose self-titled debut album appeared in 2016. In 2017 the project was awarded the Echo Jazz prize. Three years later the group gladly returned with Speak Low II, with guests Kit Downes (Hammond organ) and Lucy Railton (cello). The extended line-up allowed the original trio to create an even richer palette of sounds. Despite some avant-garde sidesteps, Speak Low remains accessible, with Cadotsch’ catchy voice as the common thread.
