Eliane Elias is one of the most recognizable musicians in jazz. With her Brazilian roots, classical background, compositional talent, seductive voice, and virtuoso piano playing, she always attracts attention. Elias has worked with big names like Gilberto Gil, Toots Thielemans, and Steps Ahead. She has thirty albums to her name and has sold over 2 million records worldwide. Elias has also won several awards, including two Grammys and the Dutch Edison Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. Her latest feat is the beautiful Grammy-winning album Mirror Mirror. On it she duets with Cuban pianist Chucho Valdés and the late Chick Corea, who passed away just after recording. It is her first album since 1995’s Solos And Duets, recorded with Herbie Hancock, on which Elias can only be heard as a pianist. Her performance on Mirror Mirror is compelling and tasteful.
