British singer-songwriter Lianne La Havas first played at NN North Sea Jazz in 2012 on the relatively small Mississippi outdoor stage. She straightaway made an astonishing impact and was one of the biggest finds of that edition. A year later she was back at the festival, this time in Maas. Even in this large hall she was able to reduce the audience to absolute silence. La Havas has it all: a magnificent voice that is warm, but never sugary, and exceptional songs. After her meteoric rise in 2012 (thanks to rave reviews of her folksy debut album Is Your Love Big Enough?) La Havas and her mother traveled to Jamaica in search of her roots. There she found the inspiration for her follow-up album Blood (2015). And now her long-awaited third album is here; the first she produced completely by herself. Therefore it has been given a meaningful title: Lianne La Havas.
