Sudanese-Dutch singer-songwriter Gaidaa has demonstrated to be one of the most interesting neo-soul talents of recent years. Producer Full Crate was impressed when he heard her singing for the first time in 2018. That same year they made A Storm On A Summers Day, which led to Gaidaa’s breakthrough. Since that time, the song has been streamed on Spotify over 12 million times. One year later, YouTube platform COLORS invited her to record her single Morning Blue as part of a larger project drawing attention to the socio-political climate in Sudan. In 2020, Gaidaa received glowing reviews at Eurosonic Noorderslag and for her EP Overture. Its eight songs are characterized by a refined soul sound, with acoustic playing and astounding singing.
