Gregory Porter is back! It’s been twelve years since Porter’s breakthrough with his brilliant debut album Water. In 2013 he signed with Blue Note for Liquid Spirit. That album went gold and won him his first Grammy in the category Best Vocal Jazz. In 2017 a second Grammy followed for Take Me To The Alley. The man with the warm baritone performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival for the first time in 2011, at a small venue with his trio at the time. Since then, he has returned to Rotterdam regularly, and he has often performed with the Metropole Orkest. Yet it took a while before he recorded an album with a big orchestra. With 2017’s Nat King Cole & Me the time had finally arrived, and again with 2020’s All Rise. Last year, Porter released his first compilation album, Still Rising - The Collection.
