ArtEZ Big Collective is a groovy and swinging orchestra. Drums, bass, double bass, vibraphone, violin, saxophone, clarinet, and trumpet are being played by over 20 conservatory students from all grades, as well as alumni. As if they have been playing together for years, that’s how good and smooth the young ArtEZ Big Collective from Arnhem sounds. This club of students from the Jazz & Pop department has some renowned bandleaders: saxophonist and composer Frans Vermeerssen and violonist Jasper le Clerq. What the audience can expect: own compositions by both leaders, as well as by educational leader Michiel Braam, Gerschwin, Morricone… even a groovy adaptation of Britney Spears could pass by! All styles will get their turn. With a varied lineup of four brass instruments, six reeds, six strings, a double rhythm section, as well as vocals, not only the well-filled stage will bubble and swing, but undoubtedly so will the audience.
