Edmar Castañeda and Grégoire Maret sharing the stage - how special is that! Castañeda is the de man who reinvented the harp while Maret pushes back boundaries with his marvelous harmonica playing. The Colombian harpist has integrated his playing into the world of jazz perfectly. He is a born innovator and has featured on the albums of guitarist John Scofield, bassist Marcus Miller and pop star Sting, among others. In addition, he is an acclaimed composer who has written symphonic music for famous orchestras. In the 1990s, legendary saxophonist Paquito D’Rivera introduced Castañeda to jazz. From his home base in New York, Castañeda conquered the world with lightning speed. Maret was a popular sideman for many years and played with Marcus Miller at North Sea Jazz back in 2007. In that year, together with Andy Milne, he released his first album, Scenarios and more followed quickly. Many believe that Maret is the undisputed heir of Toots Thielemans. Their joint album Harp vs Harp will be released in June.
