Fleurine is well acquainted with North Sea Jazz. The Dutch singer and composer, who lives in New York, is performing at the festival for the tenth time. Her album Meant To Be from 1996 was the bestselling Dutch jazz debut in that entire decade. She has worked with big names like Roy Hargrove, Christian McBride, and Jesse van Ruller. At this edition of the festival Fleurine will present her latest album Brazilian Dream. Her Portuguese roots and love for Brazilian music are overwhelmingly present on this latest record with mostly her own compositions. Fleurine is accompanied by Boys From Brazil: a dream band from New York with both upcoming and established Brazilian talents who have played with Bebel Gilberto and Maria Bethânia, among others. Fleurine & Boys From Brazil celebrate the release of Brazilian Dream with a show filled with authentic bossa nova and samba sounds, injected with a dose of true jazz.
