MORGAN HILL-MURPHY
Although he is just 24 years old, Londoner Jacob Collier is already counted among the greats. The prodigy was discovered in 2011 when he posted a video of his cover version of Stevie Wonder’s Isn’t She Lovely on YouTube. Ultimately, Quincy Jones saw the video and signed Collier to his label. At the famous MIT Media Lab in Boston, the young artist worked on developing his live show further. At home in London, Collier also began recording his own songs, finally resulting in his debut album In My Room. In 2017, Collier won two Grammy Awards and that same year he featured for the first time at North Sea Jazz with Cory Henry and the Metropole Orkest. He recorded Djesse - a four-volume album - with that orchestra. The first volume was released last year, the second is due this year. Collier will play music from the recording with his band at the festival.
