One of the songs on the most recent album of Young Gun Silver Fox is Caroline, referencing the British pirate ship with the same name. It’s about a radio station that broadcasts music from a ship at sea to young people on the shore. These are the radio waves of the album title: AM Waves. This immediately makes clear where we can place the music: in the sunny days of sixties and seventies pop. Young Gun Silver Fox is a project of Shawn Lee and Andy Platts, the latter of whom is also known as a singer and songwriter for Mamas Gun. With AM Waves they have blended a tribute to pop that is easy on the ear, but of such high quality that it was difficult to make. The fascinatingly layered songs are permeated with soft-blowing sea winds and waving palm fronds.
