The Metropole Orkest, formed after WWII to provide entertainment over the radio, is known all over the world today as a professional pop and jazz orchestra. The ensemble has performed with greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, Pat Metheny, Herbie Hancock, and Bono. In 2016, the orchestra won a Grammy Award for the album Sylva recorded with Snarky Puppy. On her recent album Grace, singer Lizz Wright (1980) shows that she has developed her exceptional voice into a salubrious vehicle for the blues, jazz, folk, soul, gospel, and pop. On the other hand, Becca Stevens (1984) is a singer-songwriter and guitarist who taps into different styles. She finds inspiration in jazz and chamber pop as well as indie rock and folk. Chilean singer-songwriter and guitarist Camila Meza (1985) brings yet another musical world to the fore, as you can hear on her latest album Ámbar. Finally, Tokyo-born and New York-based composer, arranger and conductor Miho Hazama is establishing herself as an astounding talent.
