Since 2012, audiences at clubs and festivals across Europe and beyond have been brought to a state of ecstasy with the ‘roots-driven hypnotic dance music’ of MY BABY. The trio - Dutch singer Cato van Dijck (guitar and vocals), her brother Joost ‘Sheikh’ van Dijck (drums and vocals) and New-Zealand guitarist Daniel ‘Da Freez’ Johnston - make music from a spiritual perspective, inspired by gospel, blues and old folk songs. Their breakthrough album Shamanaid caused many invitations to radio and television, carrying their name beyond the festival world. With their third, Prehistoric Rhythm, from 2017, and their latest and fourth album MOUNAIKI ~ By The Bright Of Night they have increased their success. MY BABY’s songs are loaded with a message: Borderline, for example, tells about a visit the band made to a refugee camp, last year when they were chosen to be Ambassadors for Freedom on Dutch Liberation Day. At the festival, Daniel von Piekardz will be their special guest.
