Despite being barely thirty years old, Christian Sands is one of the most popular pianists on the jazz scene. Over the past years he has toured the world with his own band and you can hear the American’s virtuoso playing on the most recent albums of Gregory Porter and Christian McBride. The latter also plays a major role in the career of the pianist from New Haven, Connecticut: since Sands graduated from the Manhattan School of Music, the famous bassist has been like a musical father to him. Sands has released eight albums of his own and has five Grammy Award nominations to his name. He sets himself apart through alluring compositions combined with a fluid technique and perfect timing. Visitors to the festival can look forward to a well-balanced and diverse performance from this young piano maestro.
