A true super group! This renowned foursome released the album Hudson last year and, to make things easy, gave their band the same name. They were inspired by the river, of which their studio had a view. However, this famous waterway is not their only source of inspiration. A number of songs in their repertoire honor legendary rock and pop musicians who can be linked to the historic Woodstock Festival (held in the Hudson Valley). Besides the compositions of drummer Jack DeJohnette and guitarist John Scofield, rock classics by Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Jimi Hendrix can be found on the album. And the way superstar guitarist Scofield (1951) takes up these songs is very energetic. Drummer DeJohnette (1942) has turned 75 and is celebrating his birthday with this tour. The ‘youngsters’, bassist Scott Colley (1963) and keyboardist John Medeski (1965), make sure this super band sounds up to date.
