There aren’t many Dutch pop artists who can reinvent themselves as creatively and artistically as Jett Rebel. The flamboyant singer-songwriter from The Hague, who was born Jelte Tuinstra, not only inspires on stage, but is also a source of inspiration for talented young musicians. Rebel is able to compose captivating pop songs filled with clever hooks and memorable melody lines, but he can also jam and improvise without thinking – in outfits that are both characteristic and impressive. The 27-year-old Rebel has shot up like a rocket since his debut album Venus & Mars (2014), after which he effortlessly raised the roof at numerous venues and festivals, both in our country and abroad. Following his debut in 2015, this will be the second time this Edison Award-winner performs at North Sea Jazz. With six albums now to his name he has the repertoire to again succeed in being one of the pacesetters of the festival.
