Sometimes the right components need to be brought together at the right time in order to create magic. That’s what happened to Vintage Future & Mell. Drummer Ton Dijkman and Hammond organist Nico Brandsen had worked on their songs, beats and sounds for years before singer/guitarist Melanie Jonk joined them. The chemistry is astounding and the magnificent vocals of this 24-year-old talent take their music to a whole new level. In 2016 the first single of this formation, Call My Name, was released and it was instantly noticed by the DJs of NPO Radio 2 and others, just like High On Love (2017) and Central Station (2018). Vintage Future & Mell is fresh, soulful, adventurous and funky, but most of all very, very good. Cleverly layered songs with various hooks that have the flexible, but super steady voice of the singer, who comes from Volendam, as their anchor.
