The songs from Disney’s animated films have become standards. All over the world generations have grown up hearing these songs; they have become part of a collective memory housing the most precious recollections of our youth. The French project Jazz Loves Disney is giving Disney classics a new lease of life with The Amazing Keystone Big Band. This 17-member big band is led by trombone player Bastien Ballaz, saxophonist Jon Boutelier, pianist Fred Nardin, and trumpeter David Encho. When the idea of Jazz Loves Disney arose in 2016, prominent jazz vocalists like Jamie Cullum, Gregory Porter, and Melody Gardot were more than willing to join in. Jazz Loves Disney was quickly embraced by audiences and their second album has now been released. The group will come to Rotterdam with top vocalists Myles Sanko, Hugh Coltman, Sarah McKenzie, and China Moses and is supplemented with a string orchestra consisting of students from the the Royal Conservatoire The Hague.
