Guitarist Adam Rogers is an artist with several musical and creative strings to his bow. Although he is best known in the worlds of jazz rock and electric jazz, he has also had success in pop music and even with his classical work. The American won the Paul Acket Award back in 2008 and since then Rogers seems to have become more fiery and adventurous than ever. Together with bassist Fima Ephron and drummer Nate Smith, at this edition of North Sea Jazz the multitalented New Yorker is presenting his latest project, DICE: a daring and melodic groove fest made up of a mix of funk, country, folk, hip-hop and of course jazz rock. With DICE, Rogers treats his audience to top-class fusion with bravura; music that draws on the genre’s rich and varied past and focuses on highlighting the progressive and experimental musical mindset of this powerhouse trio.
