JP Cooper is proof that age isn’t everything. At age 36, the self-made and self-taught musician, who hails from a family of artists, has already lived a full musical life. Cooper started out in rock bands but later decided to try his luck in a gospel choir in Manchester. The choice paid dividends because he discovered that he could do – and wanted to do – more than the typical British singer-songwriter. Soul, hip-hop, spoken word, country and pop: for Cooper these are all equally important influences. This unique mindset is definitely not an obstacle to success. Cooper featured on the Spotify hit single Perfect Strangers (recorded by teen idol Jonas Blue) which now has over 240 million listens! Live, he sings with a band that guarantees a spectacular pop show. Cooper is therefore, quite rightly, also praised for his showmanship on stage.
