The Mountbatten Big Band has worked hard to earn its reputation as one of the finest School Big Bands in the UK. All the more astonishing when you consider that the band comprises students up to the age of 16, and not 18, as the majority of school bands. The band plays a varied repertoire of classic works from the likes of Count Basie and Glen Miller, to contemporary works by composers such as Vijay Iyer and Dan Mar-Molinero. They rehearse every Friday and have performed at many prestigious events around the UK and abroad.
