Marcin Masecki is one of the most interesting pianists in Poland. Together with drummer Jerzy Rogiewicz he created a program that really highlights the ragtime style. This music style was very popular in the twenties and is interpreted in a completely new way by these two musicians. For this adventure Masecki was inspired by his childhood, when he visited Disneyland and heard a pianist play ragtime music there. Following a career where jazz, classical, pop, and avant-garde music predominated, he returned to his childhood in a musical sense. Masecki, who in the past was also a choir composer and festival organizer, used his broad experience for the program Ragtime. He has also added elements of pop music and even Ethiopian folk music with Rogiewicz. It is a recipe for a surprising mix of styles with ragtime at its heart.
