Like a reincarnation of Jimi Hendrix as a bass player, multi-talented American Miles Mosley displays his jazz virtuosity on his debut album Uprising. Armed with a grinding double bass and a troupe of horns, strings and a choir Mosley strides onto the field to do battle with pop, blues, rock, Latin, soul, and funk. Singer and bassist Mosley was trained in classical music and jazz at the Colburn School of Music in downtown Los Angeles and studied under jazz greats like John Clayton. In LA, Mosley is much in demand as a session musician. The projects he recently worked on include Kendrick Lamar's Grammy-winning album To Pimp A Butterfly and Kamasi Washington's widely acclaimed triple album The Epic. Just like the latter, Mosley is part of the West Coast Get Down, an influential LA-based jazz collective that also collaborated on Uprising. Rolling Stone magazine included Mosley in its ‘10 New Artists You Need To Know’ feature.
