Twentysomethings Lander Gyselinck, Anneleen Boehme and Bram de Looze each have very different personalities. However, in LABtrio a musical cohesion exists that has constantly evolved and refreshed itself during their ten years of collaboration. The roots of this Belgian trio are in urban jazz, but the group also flirts with underground, hip hop and electronic music. Besides their own compositions, LABtrio bring surprising covers of familiar jazz songs. All this makes for a fascinating dynamic adventure filled with improvisation. Shortly after they started in 2007, the group received various prizes in their home country. Their debut Fluxus was acclaimed as one of the best CDs of 2013. On their third album, Nature City, the group was inspired by classical, pop and electronic music. Following two successful tours, LABtrio continues their journey on the stage. At North Sea Jazz the audience will also be able to observe the synergy between these three creative minds.
