A coincidental encounter led to a remarkable collaboration between two ostentatiously creative opposites. Dutch rapper Typhoon has conquered many a heart with his successful album Lobi Da Basi and exuberant live shows. For years the internationally renowned Belgian jazz pianist Jef Neve has been thriving with his trio and has worked with artists like Jamie Cullum, Branford Marsalis and José James. Typhoon and Neve met through their shared love for music in 2015, at the Beste Buren (‘Best Neighbors’) concert, a program celebrating Flemish-Dutch creativity and cultural collaboration. Without any prior rehearsing or composing, two songs came into being spontaneously and a magical bond was formed between the two. No wonder that they wanted to share this musical connection with their audiences. Now they have created an intimate and tender live show where the spoken word of the hip hop phenomenon both challenges the Belgian pianist and fits seamlessly into his virtuoso improvising. An enchanting, surprising and touching encounter that stays with you.
