Bandleader Konrad Koselleck (1971) is always able to get audiences into a good mood. Such enthusiasm, such boundless energy; with his compositions and arrangements Koselleck keeps looking for creative exchanges with other disciplines. He already made programs about the Great War and 40 years at the Bimhuis; now he will bring a project about the legendary Dutch conductor Boy Edgar (1915-1980). This concert is in fact a celebration of the centenary of Edgar’s birth. Edgar worked both traditionally and with experimental musicians, which was not often done in his time when the two genres were often diametrically opposed. Also, he was a family doctor and neurologist. It's not for nothing that he is the namesake for such a prestigious jazz prize. Koselleck has invited some special guests to North Sea Jazz. Singer and actress Gerrie van der Klei was Edgar's muse and partner for many years and drummer John Engels played in his big band, just like bassist Arnold Dooyeweerd.
