For a band that looks like they have just performed on a sixties' soul show, Vintage Trouble has shared the stage with quite a number of surprising acts, including AC/DC, The Who, and Bon Jovi. With their mix of vintage R&B, soul and rock music they cross the boundaries of genres, just like Otis Redding did in his heyday. This became apparent during their energetic performance on the TV show Later… With Jools Holland in 2011. In the hours following the broadcast, the quartet from Los Angeles ranked six on the Twitter top 10. A day later their debut album The Bomb Shelter Sessions stormed into the upper echelons of the Amazon and iTunes charts. The group’s central figure is explosive singer Ty Taylor. His raw yet elastic vocals also put him on stage in the role of Queen frontman during the celebration of Freddie Mercury's 65th birthday. Vintage Trouble's third album, 1 Hopeful Rd., appeared on Blue Note last year.
