The collaboration between the five-member jazz funk group Kneebody and electronic solo artist Daedelus could be called groundbreaking. It's an association that started in high school in southern California, where the musicians met each other at a young age. Both Kneebody and Daedelus have since celebrated successes separately, with a Grammy nomination for Kneebody as the highlight so far. But following some collaborative efforts on a smaller scale, they have now completed an album together: Kneedelus. This album is a fascinating, unconventional instrumental trip along the roads of rock, jazz, funk and classical and electronic music. Recorded together and undergoing a final production session by Daedelus in the studio, the result is revolutionary. On stage, their worlds are joined again: Kneebody's funk-jazz played on real instruments and the electronic music of veteran Daedelus. The result seems intensely energetic. If you want to hear the future of jazz, you'll need to attend this concert.
