Banjos, trombones and ukuleles: these make you think of American folk. And that genre is certainly CC Smugglers' cup of tea, although they actually hail from Bedfordshire, England. Starting out as band that kept cropping up during the British tour of Old Crow Medicine Show from the US, the six musicians played for the waiting audiences without being asked. This soon got them noticed and in the end they came to share the stage with their heroes for the remainder of the tour. This is typical of the guerilla style CC Smugglers use to get attention. They already experienced their breakthrough on the European continent as one of the surprise acts at Rock Werchter, for example. They combine their blue grass, blues and catchy country Americana with a stage presence that is infectious.
